Serious question...not being snarky. Are you a helmet collector? Just looking to flip it to make money? Just wondering as this thing is as bad as it gets. And I just can't imagine a helmet collector, even a beginner, thinking this helmet was original.

As a rule of thumb you don't get double decal M42's certainly not of the army variety , Norwegian liner and chinstrap . Its no good . Rob

Your best bet is going to be looking on this forum for one and being patient.

Also you did the right thing to post before buying.

Just be careful there are more bad ones than good ones.

For what it's worth I got a really nice single decal M42 without chinstrap off this forum for around $600 just for reference.

You have to be patient and be willing to make an offer.

Smart! Post anything you're thinking about buying here first. This one is an M42 with fake decals and paint and a Norwegian liner. Prices for legitimate Heer double decals can vary depending on condition...roughly $1000 for a beater up to $4000 for nicer versions.

You can find complete unmolested M42 no decals starting at $400.

In general I've found that that second tricolor decal added a minimum of $1000 to a helmet. Just an observation I've made..

Brian is right though, listen to Brian. You can definitely get a great looking helmet for less than $1000. Probably not a Double Decal, but still a really decent helmet. Just keep an eye out!
