    Well worn Q66 SS M40

This one was posted a while back on the E Stand and I was lucky enough to snag it.

To me it looks like an very well worn 100% legit Q.

I think it may have been a period scrubbed whitewash at some point and has the unique later QM40 under coat , a kind of blue hue and then down to the base metal in areas.

Apparently the undercoat (wrong term) was washed on to help with paint adherence?

Decal appears to be a classic Q?

A lovely pot Mike, looks to have had whitewash which would explain the decal damage. The tone of the decal looks classic Q. I especially like the inside and naming! Regards Bill

          Thanks Bill

It's a bit rough around the edges for some people's taste (a bit like me!).

          But I like it.

Great wear, and agree about the whitewash.

                  Nice score.
                  100% original helmet.
Love the interior, as honest as a judge.

I am getting fussy in my old age!

Bought a pack of 20 pairs on Amazon as cheap as chips , I just want to be sure sweat and salt from fingers do not damage paint etc.

As a badge and silver collector also I often see horrible metal staining due to chemical reactions from touching (from years ago) that has ruined an otherwise nice badge.
