Helmet liner

hi all,

Most helmet liners are cream/brown in color, but sometimes I see very black examples like this one. Is this a post-war leather treatment or natural ageing , .... ? Thanks JS1

Looks like a very dry liner which has been threated.

Yes looks original but agreed it has probably been treated with something. I had one very similar to this.
