New find battle damaged Heer helmet with splinter cover

Hi all,

just wanted to share with you my latest helmet. This one surfaced on a recent fleamarket for very little and changed hands to a friend of me on the spot. The helmet is a real combat vet with tons of character.
Its a reissued M35 helmet with its splinter cover that is original to the helmet since the war. Both, cover and helmet shows battle damage in the same spot.
Interesting feature on the center camo panel, the 3 camo strips are made of mouse grey material, most probably surplus from the first production grey/white helmet covers. Draw string is made of hbt.
There are multiple names in the helmet as well.

I'm not convinced that the cover is original to the helmet,look at the size of the impact hole in the shell though there is a hole is in the cover it is nowhere near the same proportions and also it would be very ragged.I would conclude also that no one was wearing this helmet when the impact occurred as the liner would be a real bloody mess if they were

??? There are very clear blood stains were the bullet went through the liner. Clerly he was wounded or killed. And no, there must not be a blood mess in the liner. I had others were the shoot went through right into the head and there was even no blood at all in the liner.

Also there must not be a bigger hole to the cover, the bullet went through it and hit the helmet were it ripped a chip of steel out of the helmet which was most probably sent inside the helmet.
