I found this helmet today and wanted to post it here for opinions and feedback. Its an ET64 that started life as a single decal Luftwaffe helmet before being overpainted with a sprayed-on camouflage finish of dark green and light green/tan. The paint shows a lot of wear and patina, giving the camo a somewhat subtle appearance. The single decal is barely visible through the sprayed on camo. The inside shows a lot of age, the inside dome is rusty, the skirt has some rust. The early aluminum liner band has camo paint traces (also some on the leather) but there is none in the skirt, the liner is clearly not not as factory installed but there is a lot of dust and age and the split pins retain traces of camo paint on the outside, I think this liner has been in this helmet for a long time and I regard this as an untouched reissue lid. I think many would call this a Luftwaffe Field Division camo, or a Normandy camo, but I would err on the side of caution and just call it a Luftwaffe camo helmet. In any event this is the only camo helmet I have ever found "in the wild," this came from Pawtucket RI. What do you think of it?
