Was this originally an SS helmet? It has a stamp on the liner, and it looks like the decal was on the SS side.

You need closeup shots of the decal area of both sides of the helmet and maybe we might come to a positive conclusion. And please, whatever you do don't blow up the pics and then say "here you go". We are getting a lot of that here lately. Take new shots with your camera set in macro mode, thanks.
