    Parade helmet

    A friend of mine wants to sell me a helmet but I never seen one like this before.
    Could someone tell me if it's a real one or not...?

        First, I'll agree with the above opinions. Now, that being said,
        Second, what exactly is that shell? I've never seen that style before. It actually looks like something out of a Sgt. Rock and Easy Company comic book from back in the '60s. (Some of you will remember those.)

          Looks like it's a M16/17 type light weight shell as used by the RLB and Luftshutz period WW2 and before. I like the Y chinstrap harness but the liner looks a bit odd. Paint and decals post WW2 fake.

            Is it not an East German fireman's helmet? That is what it looks like to me.

              I disagree. The shell is a lightweight M16/17 as used by prewar RLB and Luftschutz and Bannschutz as well.
