    Let the 2005 Helmet Collecting Year Begin

    New one for me...bought it about 7 exits down I-40 from the inlaws house.

    At first glane I had hoped for a DD KM. Alas, only a toned Heer adler.

    SE64, 1939 dated alum reinforced liner band.

    A keeper, yes. But where to put it.

          That's a beautiful helmet! This thread should be linked to the earlier one about apple greens. Your new helmet is very similar in color to the interior of one of mine - a double decal M35 with textured feldgrau overpaint on the exterior and apple green on the interior (1st pic below). However, I have another early war double decal M35 that is more of "pea-soup" green (2nd pic). Has anybody else observed this difference in early war shades of green?
