Double Decal Luft and Heer helmets for review

Are both of these original decaled helmets? What would each be worth roughly.

I am being offered these helmets for 750 each which almost seems too good to be true, which is why I just wanted to make sure they are ok. The Heer I can tell the decal may have had paint over it at one time that was taken off to reveal the decal, and my concern with the Luft was that the liner looks too nice. I still am guessing that 750 each is a very good price.

What do you guys think?

Well the prices are not crazy . I would like to see the Army decal close up just to see whats going on there , the Lufty is a tad rusty , I would probably take the Army . Rob

Yeah, I noticed the Luft was a little rusty, but the decals are still in great shape and the liner is next to mint, I too liked the Army a little better, this is the closest pic of the decal I have.


I was going to guess the value in this condition for each would be around $1000-$1250, but that was just my guess.

Was the decal painted over and then the paint was removed to reveal the decal, or is there something else that causes it to look like that?

I am guessing that maybe something was placed over the decal when it was repainted and then other shield decal was put over the 2nd layer of paint? I just dont know how much that effects the value.

$750 each is a very good price especially for the Lufty. I would go for them!

Possibly someone has varnished the army helmet but beforehand they covered the decal ? dont listen to the guys above , they might be DD but they are not in tippity top condition , the rust on the lufty has turned it Brown , $500 for the Lufty $600 for the Army take cash, cash is king . Then sell them to the guys above for $1500 Rob

I was actually leaning toward the Lufty myself, but the rust does bug me a little. I wish I could see it in person before buying.
