It look like the liner might suffered some burn marks, any closeups of the liner?

Heres a similar pattern of a glove or something on mine as in your post #18 Post #18 also it appears the red was applied when the white was still wet as the pattern is in both paints

Looks even better in the 2nd set of pics, rare helmet....seems like these two medics actually experienced some sort of combat.

Thanks Mark and Andyman...the white is overpainted .... What is cool is that the red was painted over the the white but it seems that the original painter didnt paint white under the red cross ...You can see the crazing areas only on the edges of the red cross area....making the red cross over
lape...
