One i bought from an Austrian mate last week at Ciney, ive trawled thru the forum and google looking for another example but havent come up with one, not sure what time period this would have been used, its painted inside and out and has one of those late war cloth liners and plastic chinstraps, anyway folks i think it looks kind of neat

Does not appear to be rust, its a sort of bleed on the white coat , here are a couple of more pics

i like it the cross is very straight on edges, they must have used some masking tape...

looks old but wartime ? I have doubts. I looks like it was used for the RC for real but when is the question.
Another thing to check if if crosses were added to a white helmet to spice it up ?
It all happens and that makes these helmets very tough to collect.

I want to like it but i too have my doubts. Seem to be some very similar tooling marks to the Red crosses i could be wrong but its not something i could buy with absolute confidence.. Johnno.

Could have been done anytime thats the trouble with Non combat civil helmets like this , as DH says the Red Cross could have been using this into the seventies , obviously if it was a cheap as chips then its no big deal . And it is kinda neat .Rob
