Mothing, but luckily, when the hat is displayed, the moth holes are covered.

The wear pattern to the brim would suggest that the man was left handed.

That is all, if you need more pictures to get an accurate price, please let me know. I would appreciate the market value not a low ball assessment.
                  THANKS!

Hi Rolf, the cap started life as an issue enlisted mans cap. It has had the leather chinstrap and cap spring removed to make it resemble a "Old Style" field service cap.

I cannot make out the Regt stamp. I could not decide if it was a 36 or a 38. But here is a link for you:

                    http://www.lexikon-der-wehrmacht.de/...Gliederung.htm

You can check the unit's history from there

I have no idea on "value" sorry. The condition and repairs will really hurt it.

                    Cheers, Ade.

IMO this cap is worth about 200 euro maximum because of the bad sape it is in. Artillery visors are the least expensive ones together with ones. I bought a nice, private purchase em infantry visor from weitze for 400 euro three months ago.

Hello, i bought an Inf.-Officer cap from the same maker , but with the correct visor and in better shape ( one bigger moth whole) for around 180 Euro at a show in Germany 3 Months ago. I guess 200 Euro is the top level for this piece. I'm worried that someone "played" with it to grade it up to "old style" visor.

NObody played with it, as I got it from a veteran who brought it home after the war ended. I am the second owner (the veteran being the first).
