M40 SD Luft Camo

Here is a camo helmet that I had mailed to the Collectors Guild that got blasted to bits.
I had Peter mail the helmet back because of the controversy.
I said I would post some better photos when I received it back from Peter.
I know this helmet is not a one looker, but it does have some of the characteristics that I like to see in a camo helmet.
I have said it a lot it is impossible to tell for sure from photos. If I am not sure I normally just pass, but when I got this one in hand it just had a feel I liked.
There is no story on this one. I purchased it from an individual who said it came from his Uncle. He knew his Uncle was in the service in Italy but did not know if the helmet was brought back by him.
I know there was no attempt to deceive by this individual, that was obvious by the price I paid for the helmet.
I plan to bring this to the SOS I want a few people I know to give me their hands on opinion before I decide the helmets final outcome.

I don't know what all the hubbub was about but that's certainly a righteous piece in my eyes. But hey...what do I know...I'm only a lowly black SS helmet collector

I've seen similar styles of that camo. I believe it to be period and a nice example. Personally - I don't believe it will come home from the SOS - it'll sell there....
