    Bruce,

It's difficult to say based on your description alone...a picture would probably reveal the maker right away. However, I would guess that it may be a Q since they are notorious for having lightly stamped maker/size stamps. Also, the batch lot number in the rear of the skirt is probably DN301...another set of letters used by Q (DN).

Regarding Ken's dome stamp...that one is exquisite. I don't believe I have seen a clearer example. Very nice indeed.

Thanks for that info. I thought I had it worked out as I have an M-35 NS made helmet that has a D stamped into the back of it, but after reading your comment I'm not so sure now. I sent an e-mail to the starter of this thread asking him what his had stamped into the back and he said DN37. I have a Q stamped helmet in my collection to compare it with and it seems to be made of a much heavier gauge steel. I can't post photo's just yet as I have a problem with resizing my pics to fit on the forum, but I have sent Perry some photo's directly and he made some comments, would you like to have a look for me too?.
      Regards Bruce.

Hmmm... I have a Q64 with a DN ?4 lot number... looks like both companies used the DN prefix.
