M40 EF64 Heer/Luftwaffe Opinion please

Hello, I am just going to buy this helmet. It´s a M40 EF64 Heer reissue to Luftwaffe helmet. The seller told me that perhaps the back split pin is a replacement. Please, opinions on this helmet are going to be very much appreciated.

Photos are a bit dark , could have a replacement liner , as long as its less than $150 its a starter . Rob

I agree with Rob, looks like an original re issue pot, liner may have been replaced but condition matches nicely, a great first helmet. regards, Bill

Thanks Bill ans Robb. Is it normal reissue from heer to Luftwaffe? The painting seems to be period done? When you say linear is a replacemen, do you mean is original or fake? Please help with this question before I make the payment. The seller says 380 u$s with shipping included inside europe. Wait your comment

I don't see any concerns as some M40's had the M35 type liners in them. It's condition looks commensurate with the rest of the helmet.

Robt thank you very much. Two last questions: its somohow good the prize 380 including shipping? The original liner as you see, it seems to me it is zinc, am I right? Sorry for all this questions. Carlos

No its not worth $380 in my opinion . Another $150 and you can get one with a decal and nice liner . The bad points are

its am M40 ( no ones favorite )
liner is broken
no decal
poor paintwork

the good points are ............. its a German helmet .Rob

M35 chinstrap bales on an M40 band is a possibility. They used all parts till they ran out in the transition period between the 2 helmet models and linerbands. I think kind of like Rob in that for a bit more money you could get a better example with more staying power. Only my 2 cents.

If you are thinking about spending $380...IMO save an extra 100-200 and buy yourself a nice helmet with good paint, decal, and liner.

I would not buy this helmet for $200
