    M17 WWI helmet

    Hi,

I recently found this one in an old Brussels pub. The helmet suffered some rust damage on the shell, but the interior is still quite supple. Could somebody help me why there is only a ricolor in place and no sign of a national shield.

    Thanks alot in advance

    kind regards

Nice Bell "L".....unsure about that decal, it doesn't look right or very old.

The decal is 100% fake .....if you look at it in hand and rub your thumb over it you will see and feel what I mean....jmo.

Agreed, the answer is: someone only put 1 fake decal on it. Nice helmet otherwise.

What they said about the decal!

Otherwise, a pretty nice original M16 Bell L 64 helmet, with original M16 liner system.

Try some hot soapy water with a soft face cloth that should do the trick.Take the HOT soapy cloth and put it on the decal and let it sit awhile then rub the decal until it comes off.It may take a few times to do this but this will not hurt the paint under the decal.

I WOULD USE RUBBING ALCHOHOL .it will gently break down the adhesive ,whithout damaging paint ..i .use it to rebuild speakers (replace foam).....just use common sense ...gently dab it ,then scrape it off ...use more if needed ... EC
