Nice one. I too have changed my attitude about these ND m42 recently, after having picked up some of Brian Ice's books on late war helmets. Even though they appear less flashy, we must remember that they were the mainstay helmets from late 42 onwards to the end of the conflict and many late war photos show that they were front line and in the heat of different battles. I find these types to interest me more then a mint unissued type that either sat on the top shelf of a locker of a non front line soldier or never made it too far from the factory in which it was made.

These are not as easy to find as they used to be either. Many of these are gracing less scrutinised collections wearing fake Heer and SS decals... Ive come to appreciate them the last few years and looked for awhile to add one again to the collection that was just right with the original chinstrap drawstring domestamp wear ect. They are cool. Thanks for the compliments guys. Glad you like it. I normally wouldn't have gone for a helmet without a named and ranked or FP# interior, but the patna on this one grabbed me.

                  Thanks Paul…I'm trying.
