    US parachute helmet cover

    Use of camo US parachute material to make german hemet covers, (by 6th FJ Regt?) near Carentan, Normandy, and shown in nearby museum at "Dead Mans Corner"

    This is a ground dug helmet, and the reason the cover is still in good condition, is that US parachutes were made out of Nylon at the time; and not silk as many believe.
    It makes you wonder about all those 'this thread is nylon so it cant be WWII period' comments.
