DD helmet SS fake or original decals?

I found this helmet at a garage sale in sweden, and i wonder if the decals could be original? I see that the ss rune differs from the most i've seen. The helmet is marked Q66 and ha a number in the back, 2964. The liner is marked Schuberth-werke A-G. Braunschweig 938.

What about the texture on the decals? Does it seem legit or not?

Ok, what gives it away? I'm a total newbie and would like to learn =)
Is it the style of the S'es? The Texture?
        Thanks for your answer!

Welcome. The decals are know fakes, plus they do not resemble any known orignal SS decals. If you are serious about collecting buy a couple of books by Kelly Hicks on SS helmets. Search old thread on SS helmets. Get an understanding of the different makers of SS helmets. Ask questions. Post more helmets. I like looking at SS helmets even fake ones!

Some are harder than others to tell, you will rarely find one in that nice of a condition if it were real.there is no patina ,a 70 year old helmet will have an aged paint look to it and the decals general will have toned look to them. And that is just a few pointers on the outside.

Ok, thanks alot for your answer, but what about the markings inside then? surely the helmet itself must be real? What does the serial 2964 tell you guys?

It was an M35 that someone adulterated with bad SS decals. Post more inside pix.
