    EF quality control

We all could agree that EF helmets are the worst in therms of quality and finishing.
Paint pitting and dripping, misplaced decals, unreadable stampings are very common in the lids came out from Emaillierwerke procuction plant in Fulda. We should investigate why this happened. Untrained or forced workers? Lack of controls on quality? Lack of proper instruments and material? Any opinion would be very appreciated.

I will agree, EF did have weak stamps, and not all their helmets were pressed perfectly, not sure exactly why, but other than that I like EF helmets. My favorites are the M35 and M42 models. I even think their M42 helmets look better than the ckl ones. "To each his own" I guess.

The apparent cheeziness of the EF M42 production quality is kind of a bafflement but they redeem themselves, in my eyes, by the rather nice design of the inimitable EF SS runes decal....a long time favorite of mine in the M42 realm.

          I love EF helmets.
I'll take one every time over other makers, if possible.
Weak stamps, odd shapes they are quirky but of course they have the
wonderful dark feldgrau paint and as said a very nice SS rune.

I agree with you folks, but any knows why this happened? Maybe they had a greater amount of forced workers, without the proper training...issues with forge are techinical and related to machinery and quality of steel used, but misplaced decals, mediocre painting are something that is related to the capacity of each single operator, I think.

There was a lot of concentration camps KZ in the near of Fulda (KZ Katzbach,Adlerwerke,Breitenau.....)
I guess like akille68 the most of the workers was forreign workers or even forced workers with no or bad training.
Of course the delivery of hightec steel was also bad, because alliied bombing on Frankfurt/Main and also Fulda.
              That's my thougts
