    Decal help please ..............

I'd be very grateful if you decal experts could cast your eye over this decal, and offer your opinion as to authenticity.

    Thanks.

It would be great to see the whole helmet. The camo (what little we can see) looks kind of like that found on some polizei helmets.

Thank you all for the replies, and Inigo - nice to have such a pleasant welcome, how are you ?

              Yes, it is indeed a 'Q', a 'Q64' in fact - M35, with a low lot number - 898.

I'm a real dunce with decal recognition, so really appreciate the help - Thanks.
I do have a suspicion that this may be a refurbished helmet, and think I may see a tiny piece of a previous decal poking through at the '5 o'clock position.

I agree Inigo, there looks like what may be sandpaper scratching in two directions under that decal - I figured it was where a previous decal was removed and replaced. There is no other scratching on the helmet, just over the decal area.
The helmet base paint is a very dark charcoal colour, like the late war - I thought perhaps this being an earlier lot number, it may have had a previous life as an 'apple green', then got redecaled and repainted at a refurbishment depot.

Is that a common thing? - early apple greens being repaired and reissued with later paint?

Thanks for any help and interest.

                    Hi Doug,

I am fine thanks, things are not so bad these days - hope all your crew are doing fine.
This place has changed quite a lot, some 'interesting' new members, but it is great to 'see' some of you familiar faces.

Nice to hear! I haven't been online here in quite a spell myself. Ryan is doing a lot better, as you may recall he was seriously ill for a long time after our trip to England where you met him at Duxford. Everyone else is doing well, 2 left the house, 2 left! Say hi to the family!
