German WW2 Helmet

Appears to be a standard fare Luftwaffe M40 w/ what appears to be a reproduction chinstrap.

A web search via various militaria sites, as well as our own e-stand should give you an idea of value. Luftwaffe helmets are quite commonly available so you should have no trouble doing a little leg work on your own to establish value. Good luck.

From what I am seeing looks to be in the $500 to $700 range?

The helmet is a legit "Quist" made Model 1940 (M40) helmet, in a nice size 66. The things that will hurt the value are as follows: definite reproduction chinstrap (humpback repro) design, loss of decal, damaged liner. These are all things to consider when judging the helmet against any other for value. I think $500, is slightly on the high side.
