Not even close, you can almost see the dot matrix printing on it But seriously, you can see some weird cross hatching in the print !

Unquestionably, the liner has that chestnut color and the decal is lacking detail.....I have one I bought in 1976 for $19.95.....Still have the receipt.....Bodes

After saving all my allowance and Christmas money for a very long time, I had My parents send away for one in 1979, It think it was $32 shipped to my house. I was disappointed when I opened the box to find a complete repo M42 helmet, marked Hudson 1976. There was a letter inside the box saying that they had run out of the "old" German helmets and were happy to supply me with a nice "new" German helmet. I was 12, so the disappointment didn't last too long, as it still looked cool. I still have it. It came with a sheet of repo decals. I used the decals to make a DD Luftwaffe helmet, just like Sgt. shultz's. The decals only lasted a few days of playing army, as they were cheap Japanese water slide decals. Years later I found another unused sheet of the same exact decals inside a used military reference book I bought.

My m35 came a week after my birthday in january of 1979, I must have gotten one of the last 'real' ones, the liner was a norwegian reissue but the shell was a good one, I wore that helmet all day almost everyday but was forbidden to ever bring it to school. I had no decals for it though.
The MP40 MGC replica was my 'Holy Grail' toy from 1976 up to 1983 when I finally saved up my own money and bought one for around 180.00, I was in High School by then but still playing 'war' with my Brother in our woods.
                            I eventually got a Luger and a 1911 .45 too.
The company had morphed into the 'Collector's Armoury' by that time though.
Good times, Sgt Rock comics, cold Coke or Pepsi and playing in the country fields and dirt roads of Pastaskala Ohio in the 70's.
Sorry if this post wandered off topic...the subject brought back so many good memories

It may as well have been a million dollars to my parents then and my Mother howled bloody blue murder at the idea of me running about the neighborhood with one of those!
Now a SWAT team would get called in.
I am ever so grateful to have grown up when I did, playing outside all day eveyday until dark with guns.
Post- oh my God yes, it almost takes your left arm to ship anything these days and they still say they are losing money at the PO.
