                I donno understand why camo paint was layed in a negative way.
                I mean, I expected to see paint in the space left by chickenwire, non only on it...
                That said, i cannot seen any reaction beetwen former wire and shell..no rust, no patina.

                  I'm not a fan either, if you got it cheap then it's nice for an original helmet, but not an original camo IMO

                    I like the close up shots, thanks. The thing that bothers me is that it looks like it was denazified and then painted over the decal. Why scrape the decal if you are going to paint over it? It looks like a nice helmet that had a period woodchip camo applied. Post war denazified. First collector (could have been a long time ago) adds the green to cover the denazified decal area, as well as jazz it up a bit. Second collector goes digging for decal and finds the denazified decal. Third guy gets it and has to figure out whats going on. Thats just one possible scenario.
