I have no words. I've seen this type of fake decal a lot, but that price is spectacular..... value IMO is about $100 for the shell.

This helmet is a no brainer....it is that bad.The decals are a joke the liner is post war the shell might be ok but the helmet as a whole is a JOKE.The asking price is something else.I mean has helmet collecting got this bad.

What I'd like to know is, even if this helmet were real, does it warrant this kind of price? A minty SS M35 DD?

I'd say a price for an original Mint DD SS model either 35 or 40 would be in the $12,000 to $14,000 price range. Look at Kelly Hick's website for an idea.

$12,000 to $14,000 is way too low for a minty SS DD M40 which is extremely rare. IMO too low for a minty SS DD M35 too. To me $18,000 to $20,000 sounds about right.

A "minty" DD SS M40 (if you can find one), could bring in $25k-30k easy.

I recall of only one "minty" example, and the owner was offered $25k. He turned it down.
