US medic helmet

Hi everyone, I know this forum is mostly focused in German headgear but I hope you wouldn't mind some discussion of this particular US helmet:

Since most helmet collectors that really know their way around with camo paint and field markings post here rather than in the US forum, I would like to hear some opinions concerning the markings on this WWII 88th Division medic's helmet. I hope the photos are good enough for some opinions.

I can smell the new paint over here...

It is the bEst of the best of everything helmet... hence, it is nothing...

This is one of the helmets depicted in "Painted Steel." It is the fourth helmet from the same collection to be sold on eBay since the book was published. All the other helmets that sold also had one of a kind field markings.

Only thing that bothers me about it is the way the corking was stripped away in a swath on the near side to you in the first picture. But the medic markings have no damage or worn paint in the areas the corking is gone.

Is it a front or rear seam?
