Is the stamp inside the dome of the helmet a fake also? is there nothing original to this helmet? Am I forever doomed to have this monstrosity destroying my faith in humanity. Oh woe unto me.

This is just great. i have received negatives from Maryland, New York, Canada, France, Southern France, Scandinavia, Europe, Germany, Minnesota, and Denmark.

But, no negatives from China. This is my last hope. Surely someone in the world community will say something nice about my helmet.

Anders1940 & jerryrehr: You made my day. Now I know that this is not just a bad helmet but it is a world class piece of "clap". Maybe I should place it on Estand and make a fortune. Someone might be proud to have in their collection the most reviled helmet ever posted on Wehrmacht.

Oh well, my officers Todt cap made a good impression so at least 50% of my collection is excellent.

Keep your chin up Ken. My first was a dud also and it was even worse than this one. Almost everybody in this hobby has been burned by a fake at some point in their collecting career. Treat it as a lesson and move forward with better knowledge.

Yup, I think the dome stamp is fake as well.

My first camo FJ was bad as heck. I brought it back on a plane from England (not sure what I was thinking to buy one there) and when I showed it to a friend he just laughed........

[Well, that is really the last straw: fake wire, fake paint, fake insignias, fake dome stamp, and now this ...... it doesn't even fit me!!!!

Now that the world community knows about this helmet i am stuck with it for life.

Oh, almost forgot, ...... and the San Francisco Giants are losing. Other than that all is good.

This stuff has been going on for years I got a couple of fakes at gun shows in 1977 especially SS helmets got stuck with one of those and a BGS w german one made up as back then there was no internet and not a lot of good reference to know. Now the collectors are more educated and can get on forums like this and know more. It happens like high end stuff Cammo's and SS is a minefield. Good luck and you will find good ones. timothy
