The question here is weather Quist ever made helmets for the Kreigsmarine sporting a bigfoot decal. Again, here's the helmet and decal in question. Philippe at the *** forum says they never did. Other's say they have seen one.

That's an original bigfoot decal in my opinion. Not a Navy but a toned Army.

To me that looks like a KM decal, but let's hear what some others have to say

Navy decals are much more of a dark deep gold. IMO

Definitely not a Kriegsmarine. A Bigfoot KM would be a first for the collecting world.


If others have seen one, ask them to post a picture! you may find nil reply however.

Best way to satisfy your own curiosity is by a hands on inspection & comparison with a genuine Kriegsmarine decal. Worth 10 years of reading other opinions!

Hi Chris,
My opinion on the decal had nothing to do with the shell maker on this helmet. I have seen many KM helmets direct from Canadian Vets and once you see a real KM decal there is just no comparison when you compare it to a toned Army decal.

There is a DD Army helmet listed as a KM on this website www.blackcrossmilitaria.com Sometimes Army decals can turn very gold and can be easily mistaken as a KM decal.

Either way I'm very happy with the helmet. Until someone post's a pic of a definate KM bigfoot, I'm going to go with the toned Heer. Thanx guy's.

A toned Heer, IMO. KM's are almost orange in color.
