I picked this one up today from a private collection in Normandy, the wire is original to the helmet (pre-45) and does show the wear on the paint where it has rubbed. The decal is fairly knocked about but I think it's a good one, lots of white showing through the decal and you cant feel the edges with your finger nail, the strap is original and liner untouched, the piece of cloth looks like it was used as extra padding or insulation?? On inspection I found it to be a piece of wartime German camo parachute. Just want some opinions please!
