Why don't you try to take the pic a little farther back so it is clear and then crop the photo around the decal then resize to 700X??? whatever it may be. It would make the decal bigger and you should not lose to much detail.

That's a very bad picture...If you want an opinion on your helmet you have to post a picture that's in focus. Take your time and try to improve your photos....

Kind of exotic looking. An in hand would be needed.

                Frank,
I'm not saying it's good or bad but, if you need assurance from the forum you should have asked before hand if you're unsure. The other helmets that were for sale on that particular site have some of us in doubt. Do you own the helmet or did you at some point in time? I see that the reference date in your photo states 7-5-2000. This helmet sold a few weeks ago on Military Antiques & Collectibles.

To be honest, I don't like the liner. It lacks certain qualities I look for. Appears to me that it's been reworked. This is just my opinion from the photos provided. Like I stated previously. Nothing like having it in your hand.

                      Frank,
How does it smell? Any fresh leather, paint, chemical smell? Or a good ole' musty aroma?

Hey Ken, I got this helmet on labor day weekend from Bob Demel who owns Antique Arms & Armor. I saw this helmet at a antique store with other items. He also lives out here in OC. The helmet does have a slight musky smell like some of my other helmets. It does not smell like paint or leather and I have checked the rivets and they have dust buildup. The liner has some dust buildup also. Bob took me into his war room and showed me his collection. He stated that some of his SS helmets would be in Kelly Hicks new book. I called Bender publishing and spoke with Roger to order Kellys new book. I asked if he has heard of Bob and he said yes. I thought I did all my homework but the only thing I was lacking is I was not set up to do postings to ask for opinons . I would be willing to pay postage both ways to have someone check out this helmet. I beleive Perry, Andy or Ty could help but if you know someone who could let me know. I enjoy this forum so much and the people on it that I dont mind a hands on check and to find out good or bad.
                        Take Care,
                        Frank

Frank if your going to be at the Max bring it and I'll look at it. I will be honest and tell you I dont have much faith in the camo from those pictures.

Boy oh boy, those burned liners sure turn me away. How can it be burned
on only one part with no other scorching to the rest of the helmet? Its
almost as if somebody was cooking marshmellows on a camp fire and only
                              burned one side?
