There should be a decal , looks heavily cleaned and maybe relinered.

Nice helmet altough the liner seems a new... Plus I have serious doubts about the split pins.

A decal is not necessary as it could have been removed. SE is the factory marking from the Sachsische Emaillier u. Stanzwerke.

I hope you didn't pay too much $$$$ for this helmet.

Period removed decals on M40's are very very scarce. Possible of course but seeing the work done on the helmet it's not very likely this the case here.

Just an M40 no decal that may have had some cleaning or paint removed. No doubt liner has been replaced.

I think the liner is not only replaced, the leather is repro to me.
