    FJ Helmet liner size 71

I picked up this FJ helmet about 15 years ago. It is an original FJ helmet , but had a post war civil service paint job- Blue-grey maybe Denmark, Norway. The liner and chin straps are original to the helmet. I can not see any print on the inside liner. I know my others have a marking of the size and manufacturer. The leather at the top is very dark anyway. Has anyone else see a FJ liner without any print ?
By the spinner bolts it looks to be early WW2.

Liner and straps look original to me. Not all FJ liners had the stampings that we are most familiar with, since (a) a few of those liners (the minority) were manufactured by manufacturers other than Karl Heisler in Berlin and by Shuberthweke in Braunschweig (such as Biederman & Czarnikov in Berlin), and (b) it is also possible that some liners may not have received any stampings at all.

Walter, Thank you for confirming my thoughts. It is always good to get additional information from experts that are more knowledgeable than me.

Well, thanks for the compliment, but I am not an expert! I do try to specialize and study WWII German combat helmets, but that is it!

It does look all original. Could you just take some photos of the liner where the markings would normally be?

Someone did do a repair by adding a strip of leather.

I vote for Biederman & Czarnikov , have almost the same liner with red-brown thick leather and very bad visible stamps . Agree with Willi about repair. It would be Interesting to see whole helmet outside .

There was comment about the leather piece on the side on the chin strap. Is it possible Biederman & Czamikov had this as part of their construction ? the chin strap looks perfect under the leather piece which is in the same worn condition as the rest of the liner

All fj liners have same leather strip, not depend of maker but usually it more thin than here , so it looks like add later , better examine in hands. Of course there is a chance that it ' s original ...but very unusual...

                          FJ Helmet

The Camo Paint is not original, but you would never know it. Thus the lid is priced much less than original ones that are for sale on the most popular WW2 web sites
