Here is an obvious RAD DD transitional fake posted from the same auction the obvious fake DD SS M34 with the Kelly Hicks matching description was also for sale, thankfully removed. I'm not sure whose vetting your helmets Craig but they need to step up their game a few notches, they are letting terrible fakes through.

I don't know why we are still discussing this CG helm.
Please look at the helm link posted by member waffenreich is it only me that gets a nice instant gut feeling I'm looking at a beautiful helmet, if not I want to learn more hopefully from you Gents.
After the remark in the wire thread I don't know if I want be here anymore I was thumped by an interest in helms at 8yrs old been collecting off and on for over 40yrs and I'm still learning but my little know must be worth a post or two without being attacked. The helm that started this thread sorry I just initially didn't like it the poster asked for opinions I wanted to see more just my honest opinion future buyer enjoy it.
Doug
The RAD was an instant NO my friend as everyone knows except the auction, horrible. The dealer flys in and takes off treating us like a bunch of mugs.

You can complain all you want, but launching a "you list it" auction takes time and energy, and at this point, sacrifices from me. I'm willing to list real artifacts with no reserves and low opening bids, and some items (like the Navy helmet) are going cheap. I was offered more than $1625 for the helmet from WAFers, and they didn't bid (even though the photos of the interior were clearly posted on the auction). I paid the price of it being an Army helmet, so I made money, and don't care that someone got a deal. I only wish it hadn't been a dealer.
I'm also slowly ferreting out fakes on the website, and many people have expressed overwhelming support for the new site, and are helping to monitor for the fake-mongers. I will do my BEST to keep the fakery from happening. As for the FJ helmet in the above post, the owner was alerted, and had the option of re-branding the auction as "Reproduction" or ending the auction and discussing the helmet on WAF. He chose the latter.
In any event, the Navy went to a dealer, who will no doubt sell it for $3000 to $4000. Those of you who clamor for "deals" and criticize the hobby for being filled with "overpriced dealers" ought to pay attention.
