"tactical designation" on heer's hemlet needs help

Good evening, comrades, is there anyone here photos of helmets, with the tactical band behind? Talk that they are applied commanders of assault units to make it easier to navigate in the battle. I really want to reconstruct this thing in the reenactment, but I do not have good examples of photos and confirm the existence of this thing.

    P.S. Sorry for my English.

Interesting thread. Imo these signs are indeed for tactical purpose. It could be used for example to recognize the squad/ platoon leader by the own men. On the other hand, if so, this creates also a risk to be recognized as such by the enemy.
Anyway, here's my M42 wired helmet with a tactical sign at the back.

                  Hi!!
                  very nice also your
can we have more pictures to appreciate better?
Could it be that this system has been used only in russia given the frequency close combat?

This one was found a year ago at an farm attic here in Holland. For more pics see thread:

Imo this feature of tactical signs did exist on all fronts.

Most likely a sign to identify a (squad, platoon, company?) leader. On WWI helmets this is also seen used by forward artillery observers. As these are mostly positioned at the foremost front or perhaps even beyond the FLOT they wanted the troops in their back to be able to spot them. Could thus also be an observers helmet IMO.
