    M34 pre 45?

    Pics are terrible,and I know its been repainted,but is there any way to tell by the pics if this is a genuine pre 1945 M34 curved dip civilian helmet?

    The fellow who owns it wants me do some automotive repair for him,and he has this to trade (dont worry,its not an expensive job}

    It looks to me like it was originally black,then green(field gray?),then white,and now black again.

    Im sure there is little to no value to the helmet other than saving it from the dump,but Im just curious.

    Worst part is,he JUST repainted it last week so it would "look better " and Id want to work on his car!!

      It looks to be WW2 yep, the cork spacers are square on wartime models and round post war. The liner is correct too, if it has never been out from what you can tell, I'd be confident. Any shell markings that you can see? A shame he painted it

        All I found was a "64". I don't yet have the helmet,as I was offered the helmet in trade. I just wanted some info on it before I commit to it. Im hoping to sell it right away if I get it. Thank you for the info!

          Well, the one I sold was pretty much mint and original, and I had to drop it to well below the 'going rate' to get it to move. Just a word to the wise I would think you might end up with $50 or so the way the market is right now, or less.
