    My first german Helmet M42

    Hi everybody

For my first post on this forum , I want to show you my first German Helmet found in Brussels , the Daughter of a Belgian Soldier who fought during the war gave it to me with other german items .

This Helmet has never been touch by a collector before me
    it's a german M 42 , CKL size 66 , the date on the liner is 1940 ( strange)
I think there is blood inside the helmet , on the liner , on the right side , i'm not sure

    Hope you like it !

( Sorry for my poor english , i'm still learning this language )

on the first picture , you see all the things I've found there

Very nice M42 Heer helmet and for your first lid you have done well.

Also nothing strange about the 1940 dated liner so dont worry, excess stock from 1940 was used alot in the M42 pattern helmets.

                    congrats

Correct. I just picked up one like this with a 1940 dated liner band. It seemed strange to me, but I took a look at Ken N's book and it says that it's not uncommon for M42s. Very nice representative piece! Good catch.

Great looking M42 with decal. I have this unfortunate predisposition when looking at 42s with a decal.. don't really know why.. but THIS! THIS is spot on!

Great helmet and findings directly from the Family that kept the items since the war...
                              Well done! Congrats
