Allgemeine SS helmet, your opinion please !

What do you think of these helmet ? The model is personnal purchase but I do not understand the holes at the badges.

Not SS helmet and never was. The holes are for metal decals.

You are right - It is not regular SS helmet but IMO it can be real,

8ung, are you saying the Helmet in the Book is one of these Post-War DDR Robert Lubstein Mfg. Fiberhelm? Interesting.

Personally i'm not convinced. Doesn't look like no fat rune or an austrian SS to me. Best to wait for Doug, Darryl or email Kelly Hicks. I know they are familiar with the fat rune type decal.

Both decals on the helmet that started this thread are reproductions, the runic decal for certain is not a "Fat Runes".

The fiber helmet as shown in Kelly's book was made prewar, wartime and postwar. Fibre helmets are a specialty all to themselves. One way to tell is the rivets. The rivets on the fibre helmet in Kelly's book are not postwar rivets like the one you posted Dr.

Fakers like to jazz up interwar and wartime purpose built black helmets with fake SS decals as well as postwar fibre helmets painted factory black. The one in Kelly's book I believe to be an interwar period fibre helmet with a correct and never correctly duplicated (that I've seen) Fat Runes runic decal and correct Pocher decal.

And again, the helmet that started the thread is a good helmet with a pair of repro decals.

Doug, If i'm not mistaken this is the same reproduction fat rune.

Note theres only one break in the shield and the bottom rune tip doesn't line up with the break.
