Spanish Blue Division Helmet: Thoughts?

Considering the seller, I have my doubts.

This helmet is well known by me and other collectors. It has bien redecalled after the war here in Spain using an original decal from a vet source.
I do not know how Mr. Fisher has got it...
Anyway this is not the first one he has owned... Hasn't he?
Good helmet and good decal but postwar applied.

I remember this one.....original helmet+origianl decal post war applied.........

Still, its a good chance to see the details of how an original decal looks on a helmet, but the diference in patina and the laquer used on it are a dead give away......

Fab...I know of at least 5 helmets that are made this way...... original Heer helmets with original decals post war applied.....some with facke aging on the decal that do not corespond with the rest of the helmet and its a dead giveaway. The patina can be described as artificial at best....


Another big diference is that you can see the diference between decal and shell patina especially with the laquer used to transfer it or sometimes just a poor sanding of the decal to show the helmet texture.....


Another of these helmets was done poorly and added the decal on top of helmet corrosion after it was celaned....

Originals you will find that have a very especial toning to the decal in the yellow areas but its not dirtied up to pretend againg or worse they are not glosssy .......due to the modern transfer......Look at yours and compare it and you will see the diference....

So far as original none relic state BD helmets we could nerrow them down to 5, three of these are beyond a doubt the others havethe benefit of the doubt....
