I find the shade of green I see in Nick's post #12 very attractive.
I believe I would buy this helmet if it came my way.
It could be a reissue, one where they didn't add a new decal but I'm not certain just going on those pictures. I really need to see crisp close pics of the inside and outside, if not handling it in person to get a feel of how the green was applied and how it looks in relation to everything else..

It definitely is a tough call...I really like the decal though....talks to me as if original...No explanation for the repaint around the decal though....rather strange they would repaint and reissue without doing something with the decal...But after all, it's war and the Germans made every effort to get maximum mileage out of their equipment....Maybe helmet was up for a cammo job and the gent got called away before it was complete...Who knows

Yes, normally with a re-issue a new decal would have been added on top of the new paint overtop the old decal. However, in this case there may not have been a decal available to replace this one so they decided to simply leave it exposed???

          Hi Guys

Further infor gleaned is the helmet shell is a ET64 (stamped run no. 5167) and IS definitely a RE-ISSUE

In which case, I would say it's a good helmet.
