Hi, Interesting you might be right the shape looks right. Any chance of closer pics and of both sides? Lot # of helmet would be of interest too.
    Thanks

Hi there, that is a very nice helmet you have! Although i have only been collecting helmets for several years now I do know a little bit about these. Looking at the decal we can see what appears to be a reddish tone (particularly the upper right corner) where the decal has been damaged, so it'd be right to assume it was once a RAD. Who is the maker? The decal is a variant originally produced by ET. I suspect that the factory did this very quickly and didnt even bother to remove the RAD decal. Therefore this was applied. Militaria dealer Robert Iqbal has one on his website. Use the link and once on the site, go to headgear. From there you will go to heer, and scroll down until you see a picture of the same decal. The item no. is 2654. http://www.collectortocollectormilitaria.com/ Hope it helped- Joe

Wow, never knew this WM decal shape existed. Looks convincing.
Maybe a good topic to discuss further.

The one on Bob's website is not a factory job in my opinion. If you look at helmet lotnumbers it should be a no decal helmet so it's an odd one , by design it looks like a parade helmet decal. In any case a helmet that needs a firm hands on.

Would love to see a better photo of the helmet posted in this topic , my guess is that it's a RAD decal over the Heer decal that is worn away.

Must be Rad/Heer reissue or vice versa. Nice helmet in any case...

Not a RAD decal as the size is different.....

Wow, totally new one for me too. It looks completely convincing as a period decal.

It does look like Heer over RAD re-issue or vice versa.

                      Interesting helmets too Ron.

the decal posted in this topic is for sure a RAD over WH, but heavy worn away. you can see clearly both wing tips of the RAD eagle.

the other one is for me also still one big question???

Are all of those Heer decals on the same type of helmet? It actually looks like NS on the one Roy posted and maybe hkp/SE on the one Samir posted. Is there any correlation on other decal types between these 2? Are these decals well documented in any book?

Really interesting, it's like finding out you have an extra arm after years

PS the original post looks also to me like a RAD decal under.

Maybe the Heer decals are from the same company that made the RAD decals and they simply used up RAD base decals for a later Heer contract.

                            Just a theory.
