Not meant to insult zbiratelj, but I will eat my shoe if this turns out to be an untouched original. The fact that this helmet is coming from a 7-year USMC veteran that was in the Korean war is, frankly, irrelevant to the authenticity of this helmet. This only means that this vet purchased it from a source after the war. Believe me, reproduction SS helmets were being produced even as long ago as 20 years ago in Germany (20 years ago does not sound that long ago anyway, that is only 1984!!!). Anyway, I will await pictures. Meanwhile, I will warm up the grill in preparation for my shoe.

    We gave our today

      Walter,
I'll eat your other shoe if it is original.

Yes, talk about feeling old!! It always kills me when I think that Star Wars or a Bridge Too Far are now movies that are...gasp....27 years old (1977, I believe).

Won't be too long until that 50th anniversary of The Longest Day! Oh the horror!

Nevertheless, I suggest that you insist on getting some pictures.

After 3 pages we deserved it no?

                          Cheers

That'll be a long wait John.
At least Ty doesn't have to eat Walter's shoes.
