    camo helmet on TV advertisement

I was watching television the other night and former politician/actor Fred Thompson is doing a commercial bit about reverse mortgages with a US WW2 vet
and the while they are talking about the advantages of a reverse mortgage out pops a prop they start to handle of what looks like a worn tan tropical m35 or 40 type camo with the dark original underpaint showing through the top.

Very quick shot maybe a couple of seconds, but it sure looked good. If it was a fake added by the TV people I'm sure it would have been some glossy nazi helmet. The idea of the prop was they were in the vets office and while they were talking they were looking together at some of his stuff.

Did anybody else catch it? I think it was on the Military channel.

OK I found it on you tube

Helmet on white shelf on left at 3 seconds and then the helmet stars at 33 seconds

      helmet

Yes, I saw the same commercial. It was not a prop it was the vets german helmet that he brought back from the war. It looked like an ET 62. Yes a partial camo, top of the helmet had the camo worn off. I replayed the ad and paused it to look at it. IMO Interesting wear on that helmet.

        helmet

I would rather have the helmet than a reverse mortgage.

The vets full of reverse mortgage money now so no chance to buy the helmet.

                    helmet

Also in the commercial, on a shelf on the right, the vet had a good looking pair of field glasses ! Perhaps TR.

Military channel has some really good stuff ! I was watching one night and AH was reviewing some SS troops in black uniforms. Quite a combination of ww1 type helmets and some M35's. Unfortunately did not nail down the date.

correction on that helmet. Looks more like a Q or EF. Looks kinda small.

Wow, what a random place to see a German helmet. Next thing you know, Wilford Brimley will be wearing one whilst telling us all about Diabeetus.
