    SS helmet

Helmet I found in a friends garage/barn in Molsheim, France in 1972. Looks like it was originally painted black? If it was only in better condition.

Hi there, can you tell us the lot number and size/maker info? I think you will need to post better pictures of the decals, and the inside of the helmet too if you can.

Photo of the only numbers stamped inside. The interior hardware was missing.

Close up photo of the other side decal remnant. There is black paint underneath. The inside skirt has black bleeding through the green.

I also found a faint stamping on the left side skirt which looks like C62 but I believe is Q62.

I personally found it when I was visiting my relatives in Alsace summer of 1972. Seems like a lot of trouble for someone to go through in the hope a 13 year old would stumble upon it. They actually wondered why I wanted this old piece of junk.

Hi, I just checked batch numbers and found one that was a M-35 Q62 DD W/SS and it had a 1937 dated non-reinforced aluminum liner band, and a 1937 dated 'LBA' chinstrap.
