Reproduction leather Ken, i.e. leather added to the band in the last 10 years.

The Wrinkle (at one corner) could be due to improper storage. Hope to hear more feedback from forum members.

I can speak with a bit of practical experiance here as I believe that few have handled more original loose liners than I have.

This liner has all the appearances of an original that has been inventoried and stored with the Czech military (or fire brigade) after 1945. A great many original German liners, stripped helmet shells and chinstraps were preserved by the Czechs, who kept them after the war, first for possible military re-issue during the years 1945-1948 (until the Communists came to power and subsequently all military goods came via Moscow) and then afterwards relegated them to homeguard and fire-brigade usage.

Liners like this became available in stacks after 1991. I have owned/sold 100s. Now they are drying up but are still sometimes available.
