M35 dd luft

Hi Guys, got this nice Luft DD, any idea what the "L" on the back inner skirt may be?...name?...unit?
Anyone else have, or seen this?

Agreed. And would add that the liner does not stand right for this type of helmet...

Liner being swapped is not really that much of an issue. I'm sure plenty non reissue lids had a new liner at some point.

the liner is fine. the tri-color looks a bit odd, like it has been artificially aged. just my first impressions.

The L. could mean anything, we will never know.

Agree about the liner, could of been done during the war, just never know.
The "L" is a tough call....could be anything.

Just to be clear, what I meant to say is that an early aluminium style liner would have been right and not that this one is not original.

A steel liner in an M35 should be checked , it would/should bring the price down hard in any case. I rather have a factory installed alu liner band in those helmets. (within that lotnr range)

Wartime replaced or not, with all due respect with others opinion, a dd helmet with a steel liner has very little if no appeal to me.
