Hi Otto, it is not looking too good. The eagle looks very suspect, as does the red rust to the chicken wire.

Hi Otto,

The rust on the wire looks too new for the supposed age of the lid. The construction of the basket is very close but it looks too small for that size helmet. This is all my own opinion checking it against my own helmet which has been checked out by the forum.
Would be nice to see some better pictures of the decal if you can.

The rust looks new the liner looks polished the writing looks fake ,the eagle looks bad from here (but obviously a close up would be nice ) etc.............. Rob

I concur with the above forementioned....Wire doesn't appear old and decal looks to me....
