opinions needed on luftshuts decal

I bought this helmet 8-10 years ago. What do you think about the decal. I do not like the way the damege is, but it may br that the luftshuts decals were not as good as the Army. I paid about 125 dollars at that time.

IMO this is a genuine decal, however I have not seen this smudge type of damage before & it's a little high on the lid, as if put on by an amateur. A better question maybe "when was the decal put on the helmet".

I'd be interested in the thoughts of the more experianced Luftschutz collectors in our membership.

Good original helmet. I would guess the smudge was done fairly soon after the decal was applied? I see no problem with the positioning of the decal.

Good to hear. As I said before I don't have any problems with the actual decal but hadn't experianced the other 2 points I mentioned. Glad to see there's nothing to worry about.
