You've gotta give us a better link. The one you gave goes to an index page only. Please repost.

There is only 1 decal that you can see slightly.

      SS OR NOT ?

          Gilles,

I'm not sure how you expect anyone to tell you that this rusted shell is (or was) an SS helmet.

Okay. First off, I cannot confirm that this is/was a real SS helmet. However, I've seen other relic helmets that are non-SS relics, go for more than this helmet is priced at. At that price, you have nothing to lose. This helmet is obviously not an attempt at fakery. If I were looking to buy a helmet in any condition just because it was/is an SS helmet, this one would make me happy.

Gilles ,its a rusted German helmet .It could be anything ,an SS decal or a bit of paint ,its 50 bucks or £30 in real money ,so its up to you if you want it or not . Its the sort of helmet the headmistress would have in pride of place in her collection ,Rob

That's an interesting debate right there. At what point do we start saying "this was an SS helmet". Why do we say, "this is an SS helmet" when it's in good shape and not when it's a relic? The SS no longer exists. Must we then say about all SS helmets that they, "where" SS helmets? Maybe I'm over analyzing this and need a really hot girl to throw an ice-cold drink in my lap to snap me out of it.

Becuase it's better than not having it at all. You'd be surprised how you can dress up a relic helmet if you buy a football helmet case on eBay and put it in there with a snake light over it. Little 15 watt bulb. M-wa!

Sadly, people are faking relic helmets too now. Using old poor quality repros and aging them.

I here ya, but for 50e? I think there is a very small chance that someone bought this helmet from another seller, as a real SS helmet when it could be fake. Now it's made it's way to this guys site and he is just selling it as is. I think that that possibility could exist, but again, at 50e, what does he have to lose. I think it would be well worth picking it up, and if it doesn't make him happy, just resell it on eBay. Now, losing $2250 on a fake wire camo SS helmet; I'd hate to be the kinda idiot that would do something as stupid as that!!!.

                            Hi guys.
                            I'm the seller.
The helmet is sold for 50 euro, not as a ss helmet, but as an ordinary relic m40 helmet.
There are white traces on the right side from a decal, meaning this could be an ss lid, nothing more, nothing less.
But then again,it is sold as an m40 relic helmet, not as a DD relic ss helmet.
                            Just my opinion.

                            Glenn.

On this moment Gilles can start saving his money for a nice sweet black SS helmet in mint condition...
