    LW Camo M42 ?

I've owned this LW M42 for some 10-15 yrs but have never been quits sure about its camo credentials. I like the patina and sawdust / sand finish, but the inside of the rim appears to have been scoured to reveal the LW blue paint, and the liner has been removed at some stage and reattached, although the leather is marked with green paint, as if consistent with that on the helmet shell. Any thoughts?

Not an original camo IMO, you can clearly see where it has been sandpapered, regards, Bill

Thanks for the input. Obviously I'd prefer it if it was original camo, but I paid approximately £150 for it, so it's not the end of the world !
What would the pointers be to suggest that the camo isn't original? Bill, you mention sanpaper marks, which I assume are the ones inside the rim. However, I'd always assumed that this was the result of somebody scouring it to remove the cmouflage for some reason, as the camo paint still remains on the liner, as the photographs show. It's all a bit of a mystery.

It looks like the interior is repainted , can we get a good photo of the whole interior , seeing a helmet partially doesn't help its case.

OK, here are a few more pics. Note how the interior of the rim is scoured to reveal bare metal below the LW blue, whilst the crown shows mint condition LW blue. If you look closely at the metal rim of the liner you can see green drips down the outer edge as if the helmet was painted in camo whilst upside down, then the camo later scrubbed away. Just one thought; the liner is marked (size) '58' in biro, possibly indicating post war use (Norway?). Maybe they applied the camo paint and somebody later tried revealing the original paint underneath, experimenting inside the rim?

No , it doesn't cut it. Flat rivet on one side , liner's been out. Interior paint is not correct and no patina.
