What Kind Of Liner Is This?

Came across this one & was just wondering what type of liner this is?
It has extra holes along the rim & the size is marked in small holes as well.

If it's German I hadn't seen one like it before.

Any ideas?

How common (or rather uncommon) is it to find one of these liners in a German helmet?

I wouldn't go so far as to say it was a common thing but it happened. I've seen 7-8 examples I'd say in the last 10 years that were untouched since the war.
